Joe Claeys grew up in a middle-class family where he learned the value of hard work and education. He graduated from Kansas State University and went on to receive his Masters and Ed.S degrees at Fort Hays State University.
 
After graduating, Claeys dedicated his professional life to serving schools in Northwest Sedgwick County. He has worked as a School Psychologist for 16 years at Maize, St. Marks, Colwich, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, and Andale. Claeys’ expertise in educational assessment led to an invitation to teach a graduate-level assessment course at Wichita State University as an adjunct instructor. Additionally, he has traveled nationally to conduct assessment workshops for Riverside Publishing, a reputable educational resource provider.
 
In 2014, Joe took on the challenge of a new opportunity to contribute to the field of education by joining Riverside/HMH as a Clinical Measurement Consultant. In this role, he has been a trusted advisor in 14 states in the Midwest, ensuring that accurate and effective measurement practices are implemented in educational settings.
 
Claeys’ dedication to his community extends beyond his professional life. He takes immense pride in being a loving father to his two daughters, who are pursuing their education at Wichita State University. Furthermore, he shares his home with a loyal dog named Josie.
 
Having been a resident of the 27th district for over 25 years, Claeys possesses a deep understanding of the needs of the community. His extensive experience in education, combined with his unwavering conservative principles, make him a strong advocate for the district’s residents.
